Evening all,A friend on my local model society is looking to hand-build some track and during a video call last weekend we were talking about Templot.  The chap concerned has a basic understanding of Templot, but this was getting beyond him, so I said I would try and help!  Try being the optimum word :)

I think between us, we have got the dimensions for 9mm gauge trackwork to 4mm scale set up correctly, with an approximation of the sleeper spacing, which from pictures looks to be closer at the rail joins than they are mid length.  He is also working on 30 or 40ft lengths of rail.  The attached box file is what he came up with to represent a small layout that is 6' x 18" wide.

The question is, to Martin or those more knowledgeable than me, does this look right or have we got our figures wrong somewhere.  Is there anything else that should be altered?  Also, does Templot automatically adapt on different scales to things like double track spacing?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers
Mike

They can be used as a basis for other sizes, as required.

cheers,

Martin.

Mike

To my untrained eye, track plans do rely more on the scenic treatment to set the scene, the middle left turnout may look better if the timbering was equalized
