Sorry about the above, I was trying to send screen shots.
I'll have to try another way.

Message:
Unable to connect to Templot web site
It is not possible to confirm this is the latest version of Templot
Please check your internet connection before starting Templot next time

Another message:
"loading background shapes"

on clicking OK, message changes to:
"Access violation at address 00403514 in module 'templot_2.exe' Read of address 000000AC"

Click OK message disappears.

Click "Trackpad" goes to trackpad.

Only message remaining is "loading background shapes"

I have restarted PC, I have reloaded Templot2.

If I reload shapes from file message disappears but when I save and then quit and restart Templot2 then it is exactly as before with messages.

Cheers

Hi Goddders,

Was it ok yesterday?

All is working fine here, so the problem is likely with your system or internet connection.

I suggest restarting Windows. I don't mean switching the computer off and on again, but a full restart.

From Start > Power > click Restart.

cheers,

Martin.

Hi Martin

Yes it was OK yesterday

It reports that I have no internet but plainly I have. I can message you and use every other communication; Whatsapp, gmail etc., including downloading Templot2 again.

I have restarted the machine several times.

I can't find the message now but a message came up earlier to say there was an unclosed tab on the background files

Hi Martin

I may have cured it, drastically, bit like a cowboy with a snake bite. I have cut out the wound with my Bowie Knife.

I have renamed the SHAPE-FILES folder to SHAPE-FILES_OLd and saved a new shape file to the new SHAPE-FILES.

I have of course lost the immediate use of my shape files but Templot 2 does now work normally, albeit without my existing shape files.

I was in despair now, I can smile again, I think

Cheers Godders
