I've just received issue 280 of MRJ.

At the bottom of the contents page where you would normally see an estimate of the date of the next
issue it says that this is unknown

Coupled with the fact that they are only accepting 4 issue subscriptions now, and a new owner/publisher
(presumably?)  I wonder what it's future will be?

Thank you for the information Charles.

Here in Australia MRJ is normally on sale in our local newsagents however we did not get MRJ 279 and from your comment it seems unlikely that we will get MRJ 280 either.

I guess that given the average age of the MRJ team and the uncertainty of these COVID times that the MRJ team is operating under some difficulties.

I wish them well and hope they can overcome the current difficulties for I along with many others would miss the MRJ.

I have passed your comments along to some of my local BRMA group here in Australia, perhaps we will have to back order the missing copies directly from a supplier in the UK.

Best regards,

Pierre

I think the distributor is quoting delays of up to 6 weeks for international orders, so some copies may still be on their way.

Never mind anything else, I was really saddened to read the obituary for Shirley Rowe (not Covid related). Amongst all her other attributes, it seems that if it wasn’t for her, Wild Swan would have ended at Dover and there would be no international subscriptions.
Her models were an inspiration to me from my teenage years - her work stood out above many others.

I echo Paul's thoughts - we are missing many of the original 'finescale' modelling people who have been of great inspiration to us all. Dave Rowe deserves a mention too.
